Mini-Vaca With Some Deals

We went on a mini-vaca Sunday thru yesterday. We headed about an hour and a half away to take the girls to a water park which is half price after 4pm then spent the night. I have been a little nervous about traveling too far from home but felt a little more comfortable after my ultrasound last Thursday. Plus Mr. B doesn't have much vacation time and has to save it for when the baby arrives, since his starts over 5 days after I am due.

I always feel the need to bargain shop when we go out of town, and I am usually more willing to actually make the purchase since I am at stores that we don't have at home. I can't go home and think about it for a few days. We found a discount/closeout warehouse type place and I found some great deals.

Peanut Shell Wrap - $19.99 Sunshine Kids Radian 80 - $124.99

Glamourmom Nursing Tank - $5.00

Plus some clothes for Miss L when she starts preschool and little man k at some other stores.

I also did a little camera browsing, but haven't made a final decision. I can get my camera to work for a few pics and then it craps out again. I have it narrowed down to two, but I think I spend some time looking online to see if I can find a deals. Any suggestions though? I am looking for a quick shot, nothing too big. I am realistic, I am going to be chasing 3 kids and carrying all their stuff. I am not sure that I can handle a huge camera although they do some awesome stuff.

My Blogher Post

So I am not at blogher obviously. If I was I would be the quiet one in the corner. The one you have never heard of. Admiring all you cute dresses and heels while I am wearing a maternity tent and Old Navy $1 flip flops. Because we all know that is what I can fit into these days. I hope your having fun, while I am rehanging my living room curtains little s tore down before 8:30am. Maybe next year. I've seen all your tweets New York huh? That sounds like fun. Maybe by then some of you will know who I am. I can actual start typing out these crazy posts that run through my head or maybe not. I may just continue to be the lurker depends on my mood for the day. I would love to meet you all, although I am not sure what half your faces even look like. So maybe next year dear blog world. Because by then, I will have an eleven month old baby boy to leave behind and be able to wear those cute shoes and dresses.

Little Man K

And even better, NO C-SECTION!

Starting My Kids Off Right

Or at least I think I am or trying. How ever you want to look at it.

I feel like most days I spend on a constant search mission for sippy cups and little plastic bowls containing the remnants of goldfish or other kiddie snacks. They can end up anywhere in my house. I say they get this from their father since I am also usually looking for his hidden dishes. Awhile back I simply started asking Miss L to put her bowl/cup in the sink when she is done. It took awhile, but she does it a lot (I won't say all the time). Then in the last few months I have started asking little s to do the same. Which is the funnier of the two to watch and listen too. For little s, it is like a commandment to return your dishes to the sink. I don't think she has swallowed her last bite before she is running into the kitchen, and I hear the clank of her dishes being thrown in. Which is pretty good since she can not even reach the sink and really does have to throw them.

This morning, Mr. B is home and cleaning up the backyard. I was making muffins but the girls wanted to go with him. I knew they were hungry and would be back soon looking for food. When they came back in, I made them there muffins and let them eat on the deck steps. I asked Miss L to put the bowls on the back inside steps when they were done. I just heard the back door open and the clank of the dishes being thrown in to the sink.

So how old should they be before they can start washing them :)?

Introducing...

Ribbon Wrapped Headbands
3/4"

Skinny

Since Miss L is getting older, she keeps wanting to wear headbands. I hate those that you find at walmart with the little ridges that dig into your head. And, I can't resist adding a little extra flare that make my girls look a little cuter. These are perfect for that big girl who is getting a little too old for bows, but still needs that extra touch.

And for the next week, I am offering one free with each order from Once Upon A Dream over $25. Keep checking back for more styles and patterns over then next few days.

Face Lift

In honor of things not being so girly around here, my blog got a face lift. Nesting doesn't only happen around your house. Does it look OK? Is everything showing up? I need to do some picture updates on my sidebar and get a new counter because the old one didn't make the transition to well. But other than that, what do you think? Do you like my new name?

I got this template from the same place I got the old one. Simply Chic Blogs. Check them out. I am sure you will find something that you love, and the directions are super easy!

Baby Update

Bullet Style because my brain works better like that these days.
  • Ultrasound Thursday afternoon to see if my placenta has moved. If so no c-section. If not, repeat ultrasound 4 weeks later. The final decision would be made then. I have such mixed feelings on having a c-section. With a 2 and 4 year old to take in consideration, a scheduled delivery is ideal, but I don't want the recovery from a c-section.
  • Still haven't found a new vehicle or car seat combination that would work in my car. We are looking, and it is stressing me out more than anything these days. Frustrated doesn't even begin to describe things.
  • I had a charlie horse two nights ago. My calf still hurts so bad, it is hard to walk. I have increased water, calcium and potassium. (Because if you ask anyone they give you a different answer as to what causes them.)
  • My hormones are out of wack completely. Cops (the TV show) made me cry last night. I snap at my girls for barely anything. They have to think I am nuts. I can not stand to be touched, much less treated like a jungle gym.
  • Rhogam - check
  • Glucose - check
  • Iron - check

So I am ready. I keep thinking things will be easier once he is here. What 3 kids easier? Probably not, I am just to the uncomfortable, can't bend over, can barely pick up my kids, feet swelling point of pregnancy. I just keep thinking about what I can do once he is here and what I can't do right now. I am a pretty independent person. If I want something done, I just do it. I have to constantly remind myself that I probably shouldn't lift that.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

I had great plans to post this morning about our adventures at the only Cardinals game we will probably make it to this year. We went last night and the weather was perfect. The girls even wore long sleeves. In the middle of July in St. Louis, that is a miracle in itself. I was also going to include some adorable pics of my girls decked out in their Cardinals gear. But we got to the game, I took my camera out of the diaper bag and it wouldn't work. It had been charging for a few hours before we left so I knew the battery wasn't dead. Then it finally came on and stayed on the start up screen forever. Once it finally got to a place that I could take pics, it just said card unreadable. I really wanted to cry right there. I love that camera. It is an HP that I got right before Miss L was born. I finally had the settings just right, figured out how to take videos, actually knew how to use the features of the camera. I am going to play around with it today just to make sure there is nothing I can do to fix it. Any advice would be appreciated. My luck will involve me getting it to work properly, but come September, we will be in a delivery room and it will not work.

Back to the game. We had decent seats that included a underground bathroom/snack bar area. Would not have ever known it was there if it wasn't for an usher. She saw the girls getting restless and thought a change in scenery might be good. She also told us about a little play area for toddlers. Wish I knew about it a long time ago. The only thing is they must wear socks. Who wears socks in July? So I did something beyond stupid. I paid $10 a pair in a team store for socks. But it passed the time and the girls ran and played for the rest of the game. I stayed and watched them while Mr. B enjoyed the game in peace.

ETA: I got my camera working, just not reading any of the memory cards. I am guessing that the card reader is now bad. So the debate will now be whether or not I should spend the cash on a new camera or just deal with only being able to take 15 pictures at once.

Bullet Style Randomness

  • Moving truck just pulled in front of rental house across the street. Will see how lucky we are this time. It is usually hit or miss, but no one ever stays for long. I am about the be nosey and spy from my front window.
  • My kids got up at 5:45 this morning. I had great intentions to do laundry today. Not so much now. little s started acting crazy so she is down for an early nap. I can't handle that, however she did use the potty once today. I guess we will try again when she wakes up.
  • I have been sucked into facebook lately. So I have neglected the blogging world and twitter. I never can balance everything. It is usually one at a time. Maybe I will be back around soon.
  • I need to catch up on "What's for dinner" I have a few recipes to post although I haven't been cooking much. Easy stuff and grilling are just two reasons to love summer. Plus lots of friends and family having BBQ's make things pretty easy.
  • The 4th kinda sucked. It rained off and on all day. I had great plans of taking the girls to a park that puts flags up everywhere and taking their pics all dressed up. But the rain canceled those plans. After a family BBQ/swim party, we came home and the girls were exhausted. Our neighbors were out shooting fireworks. Mr. B and Miss L headed over. Thanks goodness Miss L got tired when she did and came home because a few minutes later a fight broke out. I am not lying. Mr. B was a oblivious to this until the very end thank goodness. It really was between the dad and son but got blown out of proportion. But the cops got called and the dad was arrested. Then an hour later some more fighting and the cops came back. I really need to move. They aren't that of people so it was a pretty shocking situation. I am just glad my girls were safe in their beds.
