We have been without a computer for almost 2 weeks now. I feel lost. Our third power cord came today for my pretty red laptop, but it did not work. So something is wrong with the connection in the computer not the cord. I set our ancient desktop computer back up, and it is driving me nuts.
But here I am alive and well, today at least. I won't give you the details of the misery that has been this 3rd and final pregnancy so far. But I will let you let you know that I have my first appointment with the doctor in the morning. I am changing doctors this go around. I figured since this is my last stab at this, I should treat myself to a doctor who was not burnt out and treated his patients with a little common courtesy. (Sorry that was harsh, if you can't tell I am a little bitter.) I have already had 3 appointments in the office, I included an ultrasound. But tomorrow we should get to hear out little ones heartbeat, which I did not get to do at the ultrasound although I could see it. Mr. B did not get to go since it was a last minute emergency appt. But he took of work tomorrow, which makes me feel special. I figured he wouldn't be into all the dr. visits etc, since he has had to do it 2 times before. But I think he understands that I need a little moral support lately. At least that is what I am telling myself.
Several of you have asked about how the binky challenge went. I am excited to say that the day that I wrote that blog post was the last day that we have had binkies in this house. The first two days were rough. Then things started to get easier. Bumps and ouchies usually are followed by a request for a binky, especially from little s, but I just tell her we don't have them any more and it is over. little s started taking naps again a few days in, but I learned that I had to shorten her nap time about an hour for her to fall asleep at a decent time in the evenings. So if you are considering a binky challenge for yourself, I highly recommend the cold turkey technique. It was actually recommended to us by the lactation nurse when little s was born. The first week is the hardest, but once you get past that it easy as can be. It is so nice to jump in the car and not worry five miles from home what you are going to do without the binky you left at home. Also, little s's vocabulary has increased drastically. I am giving credit to my wonderful binky taking away skills.
And even more exciting news. Saturday night we are headed out of town for a friend's birthday party. But the even better part is that the girls are staying with Mr. B's mom. Of course we have had dates, but we (or should I say I) have not had a full night away from them since September 07 when we went to Chicago. All I can think about is the full night of uninterrupted sleep.
Until next time,
Lauren
