Calling All Organizing Gurus

I have a few posts in the works and need your help with one. I am trying to get my house organized prior to the arrival to baby #3. Especially since the first comment out of every one's mouth is where are you going to put this baby. I really do have all that figured out, my house may seem small, but it works for us most days at least.

So my question/favor for you: Send me your best organization, time saving techniques, and/or strategies especially with managing a house with multiple little people. Send some pics or whatever you think would help to explain your technique. You can email me at laurenlpopp(at)gmail(dot)com. I'll post yours (with a link if you have a blog) along with a few of mine.

My hope is to find ways to make a little more space in my teeny, tiny house and to keep my life a little more manageable with 3. I also don't want to be running around here scrubbing and decluttering like a mad woman two weeks before this baby pops out. I'd prefer to do it a little more slowly and calmly. My hormonal cleaning rage or as some call it nesting is not too pleasant to witness.

Happy Birthday little s

A cupcake for breakfast. Notice the giant blue ball in the background. Her birthday present she picked out.
She actually decided to hide behind the two during her pics. She would not pose or sit still. I would plop her down and hope that she snapped the picture in the half second she was still. We have opted to do small family parties this year. little s's is on Sunday.
~No one entered my giveaway :( So that means no winner. Maybe next time.
~Don't forget to take your guess on the baby #3 poll.

Baby #3 Poll

On May 1st, my 20 week ultrasound is scheduled for 8 am. We should be able to tell the gender if baby is cooperating. I have my thoughts, but will keep them to myself since I was wrong last time. What's your guess? Please let me know by participating in the poll to on the right.

Monday Game Day: Alphabet After Easter Egg Hunt

What? Easter is over. Why the heck would you want to hunt more eggs?

I am always looking for new games/activities to do with Miss L while little s is taking her afternoon nap. I have completely given up on getting a nap out of Miss L, so why not try and do something creative/productive/educational with her. Usually she gets to play with play dough, use scissors or another activity little s just can't handle with her crazy toddler behaviors.

Today I used all of our plastic eggs we collected over the weekend (you know while we still have whole eggs not half an egg in all colors of the rainbow) and printed out an alphabet sheet. Two actually.

I cut apart one sheet and put a letter in each egg and one golden egg with M&M's.

Then hid the eggs all over the living room and dining room while Miss L sat patiently in my bedroom.

She then went on the hunt.

We opened all the eggs and matched the letters up with the ones on the second alphabet sheet I printed.

Eventually I hope not to have to use the second sheet, but some of those trickier letters are just too hard to remember.

So what do you think of "Monday Game Days". I am always looking for new easy (easy for me that is) things to play. I am hoping to do this every Monday, wouldn't you like to join in. You don't really have to play the game on Monday, just post about it on a Monday. If you are interested, let me know. Maybe we could use a Mr. Linky next week.

Don't forget I have a giveaway going on.

What do I do?

Miss L just found part of some goodies the Easter Bunny dropped off hidden in my laundry room. It is a small item money wise but a big item in the amount of space that it takes up in the basket. What do I do?
These are the ideas I have come up with so far. Keep in mind she is only 4 but has an excellent memory. I am not ready to give up the whole Easter bunny/Santa stuff yet.
  • Go ahead and just give it to her, maybe save it for a day she is being good as a reward.
  • Put it in the basket anyway and make up some elaborate story about how the bunny dropped it off early.
  • Give it to her on Easter and say it is a surprise from Mom and Dad.

I guess I need to become a better hider. She is a snoopy one. But glad I caught her when I did, she was pretty close to the rest of the loot. And I am not sure I could go out and buy all new stuff.

I got some great deals at Gymboree this weekend, and even got some Gymbucks! Of course we needed some new bows to match, so I have been busy with those as well as a few orders today. I am proud to say that I have never paid full price for anything in Gymboree. I love their clearance racks!

New Ribbon Flops

I am ready for flip flop weather, how about you? New ribbon flops at Once Upon A Dream, and I will be adding more daily. So check them out. Think about a custom pair to match a favorite swim suit!

the post in which i type w/ 1 hand

ignore the fact their is no capitalization and any other boo-boos i make. Monday night i was making a hair bow and cut a chunk out of my left hand with scissors. Six hours later i left er with 5 stitches. the swelling has finally gone down enough that i can move my fingers enough not to feel like i am splitting it back open. the hardest task i have found so far: changing a diaper. anyone want to come take over that duty for awhile?
